Hello! This is our first time using DVC, our first year at the Grand Floridian. My husband and I are bringing my 8 yr old Godson for his first Disney Vacation! We booked the Deluxe Studio, with 1 bdr. will this option be ok for all of us for sleeping?

    Hi Sarah!

Congratulations on becoming Disney Vacation Club Members! Since becoming Members in 2009, my family has traveled to Walt Disney World at least once a year, and we have been able to bring my parents, our brothers and their families. We love being able to give the gift of a Disney vacation to others. How lucky your godson is, that you are going to be able to take him to Walt Disney World!

Deluxe Studios at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa have one queen bed, one queen-size sleeper sofa and a twin-size pull down bunk. You will also have a kitchenette for meals and snacks, and the bathroom features separate tub and shower areas to allow more flexibility for the morning rush. I think an 8 year old will fit comfortably on either the sleeper sofa or the pull-down bunk. If my boys’ preferences are any indication, I will bet he will enjoy the novelty of the pull-down bunk that is hidden in the media cabinet.

If you wanted to do something extra special for your godson while staying at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, you may be interested in the Pirate Adventure Cruise that departs from the resort. We sent our boys on this adventure last year and they had a great time sailing the Seven Seas Lagoon and looking for treasure. At that time, we were able to receive a discount with our Disney Vacation Club Membership, and while the boys were having fun, we enjoyed a few hours on our own. This might make a magical extra surprise for a budding pirate!

Have fun of planning an exciting first Walt Disney World trip for your godson. Don't forget to pick him up a complimentary “First Visit” button when you check-in. Let me know if you have any additional questions as your trip approaches!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
