We are going for the first time July 17-24. I have a 7 yo dtr & 10 yo boy. Any suggestions? I need ideas for the 10 yo to do dining wise. There are lots of princess options. Thanks Julie

Hi, Julie!  It does seem like there are more dining options that appeal to girls than to boys, but if you look beyond the character dining experiences, you might find the opposite is true!

We recently dined at the brand new T-Rex restaurant in Downtown Disney, and the theming is incredible!  If your son is interested at all in dinosaurs, this is going to be his new favorite restaurant.  Each room is a different theme - including a glacier room and a coral reef room - and there are animatronic dinosaurs throughout the restaurant.  The meteor shower that takes place about every 20 minutes might have you running for cover, but it's great fun!

Another fun option for boys is the Sci-Fi Dine In at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  You enjoy your meal while sitting in a convertible at the drive in movie!  It doesn't get much cooler than that for a boy or a girl!

Antics are a-plenty at the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge.  The wait staff here make the meal so much fun with the jokes and pranks, you might find your son wants to eat all of your meals here!

Other restaurants you might want to look into include 50's Prime Time Cafe at Disney's Hollywood Studios, where mom and dad just might find themselves not getting dessert if they don't finish their veggies; and either of the Rainforest Cafe locations - Downtown Disney or Disney's Animal Kingdom.

    Happy planning, and happy dining!
