First time fancy magic band question we have3 fancy magic bands one for myself my wife and my daughter who is 14. When it comes to pairing do I need to pair all three to my device? Or do they need to Bluetooth to their own devices?

Hey Howdy Hey Aaron and welcome to planDisney fellow Buckeye!

When Disney first released MagicBands for Guests in the Walt Disney World Resort, this completely changed the theme park experience. With the recent release of MagicBand+, this took this experience to the next level. These bands now allow Guests to be part of the story when in the parks. Being able to interact with the environment in a whole new way is a really cool experience I am sure you all will love. Thank you for stopping by with your question on specifics when it comes to connecting your MagicBand+ to your My Disney Experience account. I will be happy to give you more information on linking them.

Aaron, it sounds like you are one step away from linking your bands. After you have them linked to the appropriate account, the last thing you would do is link them to a Bluetooth device. This step depends on how you have your accounts set up as this would be done through the My Disney Experience app rather than online. If your wife and your daughter have their own My Disney Experience accounts, they would have to set up the Bluetooth connection on their own devices through their My Disney Experience apps. If you manage either of their accounts, you would have to link them to your device.

Considering your daughter is 14, her My Disney Experience account may be managed by you or your wife, but you also have the option to give her the ability to manage her account. As long as she has an email address, this is a super easy step to do. Once you log into your account, go to the "My Family & Friends List". Look for her name and click on the "Settings" button. On the top right of the menu, you should see an option to "Share Planning with (your daughter's name)". Follow the steps and then she will have control over her account and the ability to share plans with you and your wife. She will also have the ability to link her MagicBand+ to her smart device if she has one.

I am sure you already know all about the experiences to be on the lookout for on your upcoming trip, but I did want to share one super fun option in the parks. In Disney's Hollywood Studios, you can become a bounty hunter in Star Wars: Galaxies Edge. Using your smartphone and your MagicBand+, you can search the land for various bounties hidden throughout Batuu. It is a great way to explore this land and all the details in a super fun and engaging way.

I hope this helped you figure out your MagicBand+ situation. I wish for a trip full of Magical memories for you all during your upcoming visit. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out and let us know, we are always happy to help!

    Have a Magical day,

    Nick
