Hi Tobi!
How exciting that you are planning your first Walt Disney World vacation with your two-year old nephew! There is nothing more enjoyable than seeing Disney through a little ones eyes. Their excitement at seeing Mickey Mouse in person, their joy at eating a Mickey Mouse Ice Cream sandwich and their squeals when riding
Dumbo for the first time...heaven!
You will be happy to hear that children under three eat free at Disney World. This works in a few ways. If you are eating at an all-you-care-to-eat experience, which many of the character dining experiences are (such as Chef Mickey's, Garden Grill, Donald's Safari Breakfast), then your nephew can get a plate and eat anything off the buffet and you will not be charged.
If you are eating at a Table Service restaurant, he can either eat off your plate or you can order a child's meal for him at no charge. Of course you an also bring his own meals into the restaurant, which I often did with my daughter, as she didn't want to eat a full meal.
Check out the
2017 Disney Dining Plan brochure for more information on the dining options available on the Disney Dining Plan. Also, don't forget to make your
Advanced Dining Reservations beginning 180 days in advance.
Magically,
Stacy
