Hi Michelle,
I'm super excited for your very first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! Whether you're four or ninety-four, your first Disney experience is just so magical! Be sure to ask for a complimentary "My First Visit" pin when you arrive, and feel free to watch the attached video for some additional tips to help ensure that your first visit is amazing!
No visit to the most magical place on earth would be complete without some photos to help you remember your trip! You'll find PhotoPass photographers located all throughout the parks, willing to take your family's photos for you. What I love about their photos is that everyone in my family can be in the picture together! I definitely recommend purchasing
Memory Maker as a simple way to be able to view, share, and download all the photos captured both by the PhotoPass photographers and on select attractions. I'm also happy to let you know that yes, you are definitely allowed to bring your own camera with you into the theme parks, whether it's on your cell phone or you have your own DSLR camera. As long as you're using the photos for your own personal use, feel free to snap away! The
park rules do state that if you're a professional photographer bringing your equipment for professional purposes, you'll need to make arrangements ahead of time with Walt Disney World Media Relations, but otherwise, you're fine to use your own personal camera. Do note, too, that selfie sticks and tripod stands that are larger than what will fit in a standard backpack are prohibited.
I hope that you soak up every bit of magic and fun during your first visit, Michelle, and that your photographs help you enjoy life-long memories of your amazing trip! Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and have a truly magical vacation!
Missy
