Hello, this is my first time going to Disney World with extended family. Since we have such a large group (11 people including 4 kids), are there any dining options at Animal Kingdom for us to make reservations? What day/time can that be done?

Welcome to planDisney, Sandra! It sounds like you are going to have a wild time with your family during your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World Resort. Finding dining locations that accept large groups can be tricky, but I've got you covered. Hakuna Matata!

Dining reservations are available for booking up to 60 days in advance; I like to get logged into My Disney Experience by 5:45 AM EST, so I'm ready to hit that button as soon as it's 6:00 AM! In addition, Disney Resort hotel Guests can make reservations up to 60 days before their resort check-in date for their entire trip (up to 10 days). If you're staying on property, this is a significant advantage since you won't have to set your alarm and check availability daily!

Buffets are the perfect venue for big parties since the tables are large, and there are various choices to please every palate. Two of the best buffets at Walt Disney World happen to be at Animal Kingdom. Tusker House Restaurant is conveniently located inside Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This is a popular character meal where you can see Donald Duck and his pals in their safari garb. If you're willing to venture over to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, I recommend going to Boma. The breakfast here is delicious, but they are better known for their soups during the dinner buffet (the Butternut Squash Soup is a fan favorite)!

Honorable mention choices include Rainforest Cafe, which is by the park entrance (if you can't get a reservation online, you can call them directly at (407) 938-9100), and Yak & Yeti ((407) 824-9384). Both of these restaurants are managed by the Landry Restaurant Group. If you choose one of these options, consider signing up for Landry's Select Club to take advantage of their special offers. Lastly, even though it's a counter-service restaurant, I love Satu'li Canteen in the park's Pandora – The World of Avatar section. The food here is filling and high quality, and there's plenty of room for large families to eat together. And a big plus is that no reservations are needed!

I hope you get to Tree-t yourself to some great meals, Sandra! If you have any more questions, please send them our way!
