We are first time Disney cruisers and are so excited about our upcoming 4 night cruise aboard the Disney Dream on Oct. 3rd. Can you give me some guidance on the attire for dining each specific night? Semi-formal, Pirate night, costume night? Thank you!

Welcome aboard, Julie! As you board the Disney Dream for the very first time, your family will step into the gorgeous atrium lobby of the ship as the Cast Members announce your family name and applaud your arrival. What a magical way to begin your first cruise with Disney!

Your four-night sailing on the Dream will include three Cruise Casual nights (one of which is Pirate Night), and one Optional Dress-Up Night. On the Cruise Casual nights, you'll see all sorts of attire, anything from nicer shorts and polo shirts to summer dresses, and even some who get more dressed up. Disney asks that no swimwear or tank tops be worn to the dining rooms.

On this shorter cruise, there is not a Formal or Semi-Formal night, so on Optional Dress-Up night, many guests choose to wear dressier outfits, some going very formal, but others just the same as they've worn the other evenings, and everywhere in between. If your family enjoys getting dressed up, this is the night to do so, as even your favorite Disney friends will be out in their formalwear for photos with guests! It certainly makes for some great family photos that night!

On Pirate Night, all guests receive a Mickey's Pirates IN the Caribbean bandana to wear, but many guests will bring their own pirate costumes or just some pirate accessories to add even more swashbuckling fun. Of course, there are pirate costumes and accessories for sale in the shops onboard, but if you have any at home, pack those! The Disney characters, your dining servers, and lots of guests will be in pirate gear all night for the pirate-themed meal, games, deck party, and Buccaneer Blast Fireworks at sea!

So, pull out those suitcases pretty soon, Julie, and have fun packing for your Disney Cruise Line vacation!
