First time Disney cruiser. We set sail out of Miami January 21st on Magic, any idea what shows/special entertainment will be included? Also, logistically, are the beaches on Castaway Cay within walking distance? Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Ahoy, Scott!

What a MARVELous sailing on the Disney Magic you have to look forward to in January! It really is going to be an EPIC first vacation with Disney Cruise Line for your crew. On the day the ship celebrates Marvel Day at Sea, you can expect special events and programming scheduled throughout the entire day. Your cruise newsletter will be your go-to guide for all the ship's happenings so keep it handy along with the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app so you don't miss out on any of the fun! The Cruise Staff will host Marvel Trivia, a Marvel Costume Celebration, Marvel Comic Academy, the Comic Vault, Character Meet-n-Greets, game shows, a special show in the Walt Disney Theatre with Doctor Strange and a show on the pool deck with fireworks to round out the festivities! The youth programming will offer some themed activities as well. Even your favorite Disney Pals will be dressed up like Marvel Super Heroes! Doesn't that sound amazing?

Since this only represents one day of your cruise, you can expect three Broadway-style shows in the Walt Disney Theatre-Twice Charmed, Tangled: The Musical and Disney Dreams: An Enchanted Classic. You can also spend time enjoying karaoke, first-run movies, trivia, game shows and much more!

Scott, you will not believe how close the beach area is to the dock at Castaway Cay! It's only about a 10-minute walk or short tram ride away. Everything on the island is conveniently located and a map will be provided to you in your stateroom the night before you arrive. I suggest bringing it along in your beach bag with your cruise newsletter. And so you know, towels will be provided as you leave the pier. You'll love everything about your day in Disney's Bahamian paradise!

I hope my answer gives you a better idea of what to expect! If we can assist you with additional questions, please write back!
