Hello ! First time on Disney cruise. I was wondering : I know we can keep in touch with every member of the same stateroom with the Disney Cruise line app, but do each member of the party need a Disney account ? Thank you for your answers

Ahoy, Nycia! Welcome to planDisney and welcome to your first adventure with Disney Cruise Line! Have you been watching the countdown clock on the app? I love the characters that appear for each "zero." It's a lot of fun on the morning of your cruise to see a countdown full of characters and no numbers left!

The Disney Cruise Line Navigator app has all the power and pizzazz to help you plan your vacation. Once you are on board and connected to DCL-Guest Wi-Fi, the app transforms magically when it unlocks the Onboard Mode features.

One of these awesome features is Onboard Chat. For this, each member of your family would need a device with the app, but they do not need MyDisney accounts. When you first connect to DCL Guest Wi-Fi and open the app, you just need to enter your name, birthdate and stateroom number to connect your device to you for all the functions on board.

You can access the chat through the conversation bubble icon at the top of the screen. You should see your family staying in the same stateroom already listed. Each Guest on the cruise also has a unique Chat ID to connect with Guests in other rooms. Tap on a name in your contact list or enter the Chat ID and you are ready to chat away with individual and group messages.

The app has so many amazing features. You can see your dining rotation and check out the menus before dinner. It lists all the activities on board, like movies, live entertainment and character greetings. Kids and teens can also see the activities scheduled in the youth clubs. I always mark the heart next to activities I want to attend to get reminders when it's time to go.

With this being your first Disney cruise, you may have more questions as you plan your vacation. planDisney is here to help with information, tips and advice. Please just sail back by.

    Bon Voyage!
