Hi first time cruising, 3 day halloween dream cruise. any tips greatly appreciated, we are driving in from Ohio, WDW march so we are thinking of staying closer to the port, anyone done this before? all adults. Many thanks!!

Welcome back, Stacey! There are so many options when it comes to staying the night before you sail with Disney Cruise Line. My family and I always choose to stay at one of the Walt Disney World Resorts before our cruises, as it adds so much extra magic to our cruise. Since you're driving, that's a great option for you because you wouldn't even have to book the ground transfers from the resorts to the port. You could simply drive yourself!

But, if you prefer to stay closer to the port, check out some of the nearby resorts and hotels in the Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral area. Many will offer sleep and cruise options where you can then leave your car in their lot after staying overnight and get it when you return. I couldn't recommend one over the other, as there are quite a few to choose from, but I've heard great things about the hotels for one night before sailing. It certainly is convenient to be so close!

Depending on what time you arrive in the area the day before, be sure to check out the nearby attractions. The Kennedy Space Center has a visitor complex that is a lot of fun to explore. Or if you're into shopping, swing by Cocoa Village. There is quite a bit of fun to be had in the area before setting sail, or even after you cruise if you're not driving straight home.

    Have fun planning!
