Ahoy, Tara!
Thank you for sending in this appetizing question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I think
room service is always a highlight for my kiddos when we cruise...especially ordering late at night since it is available 24 hours per day! One of our favorite cruise traditions is to order the mouthwatering Big Island Cookies (think large chocolate chip cookies) and some milk before bedtime! One serving equals two large cookies so we order up two, and we all indulge in a sweet treat before bed (it is vacation after all)! Other menu items (always subject to change) include pizza, sandwiches, wings and although not listed, but typically available, Mickey Ice Cream Bars!!! All of these items as well as some others are included in your cruise fare so order away! Items that will incur an additional charge are the large fruit platters, the cheese platter, any candies, popcorn or nuts. Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are not complimentary so you will be charged for those. We like to stop by the
beverage station on the pool deck before we head down to our stateroom at night to pick up some soft drinks. There will be a small refrigerator for you to keep drinks cool, and you can leave the ice out and have your stateroom host/hostess or room service attendant deliver some.
There are two ways to tip the crew member who delivers your room service-cash or on your "Key to the World" card that is linked to your credit card. Most of the time we bring a stash of one-dollar bills to have for our nightly orders, but it is completely up to you.
I'm so excited for you to experience your first magical voyage aboard Disney Cruise Line, Tara! Please let us know if you have any other questions. We are always happy to help!
Nancy
