We are first time cruisers and are taking the cruise to the Bahamas in April. Our check in time is 12:30pm. I have 2 children. Should we eat some lunch before we check in or will we be able to get something to eat on the ship?

Aditi, welcome aboard! Congratulations on booking your very first cruise with Disney! I have a feeling that it will not be your last!

The check-in times at the port are really just to ensure that the crowds are spread out at the port terminal and so that everyone is not arriving at one time. If you arrive earlier than your check-in time, they will still be happy to check you in and give you your boarding number.

No matter what time we arrive, we always like to pack a little snack for the kids so that they have something to nibble on while we wait to board, so you might want to do the same. Once onboard, you will be greeted like royalty as they announce your family name and you step into the gorgeous atrium lobby of the ship! A Cast Member will then pull your family aside and direct you to one of two spots where great lunch buffets will be waiting for you. The lunch buffets stay open for all the guests no matter their check-in time, so you can be sure you will be able to eat as soon as you get on the ship.

Your rooms probably won't be ready until just after 1:00 or 2:00 p.m., so having a nice relaxing lunch is just the thing to do while you wait for your stateroom to be all ready.

Have fun as you continue to plan your cruise, Aditi! Please stop back here with any other questions, as I'd love to help!
