    We are first time cruisers leaving on a 4 night cruise 12/9/12. I am interested in the 5K run on castaway cay. Will it be offered on our cruise? If I run, will my entire family (hubby and two adorable kids) be allowed to disembark with me?

    Welcome back to the Moms Panel!  As a DCL Mom, I'm so excited to hear about your first voyage on Disney Cruise Line!  Experiencing Disney at sea is magnificent, and you will love everything Disney Cruise Line has to offer onboard the spectacular Disney Dream! 

    As a runner, I am also looking forward to running the Castaway Cay 5K on my next visit to the island.  This RunDisney event is offered on all sailings that visit Disney's Bahamian oasis!  Details will be listed in the Personal Navigator, your daily cruise newsletter, but here is what I know about the island run.  Usually participants meet up near the starting line around 8:45-9:00am.  You will receive a bib number, and there is an actual race clock to time you.  The course is flat and paved with water stops along the way.  After you cross the finish line you will receive a Mickey Medal, and a certificate will be delivered to your room later in the day.  Disney has recently added a Castaway Cay 5K T-shirt that can be purchased at Buy the Seashore gift shop.  Your sweet family is welcome to disembark the ship with you!
