Ahoy, Iona!
You are absolutely right...this is a sad question because it's not very magical to think about the end of the cruise. But, I understand that this is an important question, and you definitely want the conclusion of your vacation to be smooth and seamless. I believe you will be disembarking the Disney Dream in Port Canaveral, Iona. If this is correct, Disney Cruise Line recommends all flights out of the Orlando International Airport to be scheduled no earlier than 11:30 a.m. This will allow plenty of time for you to leave the ship, pass through U.S. Customs and travel to the airport, which is about an hour away.
Iona, have you purchased
Disney Cruise Line ground transportation? This may be something to consider for your upcoming sailing because it allows you to sit back and relax while Disney Cruise Line takes cares of everything. If you fly in the same day as your cruise, you'll be able to bypass baggage claim (no matter the airlines you fly) because your luggage will be delivered directly to your stateroom while a comfortable motor coach whisks you away to the port. If your airline participates in Disney Cruise Line's Onboard Airline Check-in, I highly recommend taking advantage of this service. You'll be able to check your bags the night before you disembark, and they will be checked all the way to your final destination. If you are interested, pre-registration is required when you check-in at the cruise terminal. At this time, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways and United Airlines participate in this service.
I'm so glad you sailed by for some help with your cruise plans, Iona. Since this is your inaugural sailing with Disney Cruise Line, please let us know what other questions you may have about your voyage. We can't wait to hEAR from you again real soon!
