Hello! First time to cruise here! :)Family of 5 including kids 4&5 are going on a cruise (Disney dream) to Bahamas on feb 26, Im planning to rent a car and park at the port, is it more convenient to just take the shuttle from a hotel? Thanks in advance

    Ahoy Jenalyn!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and congratulations on your very first Disney Cruise! You've only got a couple of weeks to go until the phenomenal crew of the Disney Dream is welcoming you aboard! How exciting is that!
My family has driven to the port many times so hopefully I can steer you in the right direction. Parking at Disney's terminal at Port Canaveral is quite simple since the port and parking deck are both very easy to navigate. If you drive, you will drop your family members and luggage at the curb while you park the car. The deck is a quick walk to the terminal so you can meet up with your crew in no time at all. It looks like you are sailing on a three-night voyage; so parking prices are quite reasonable for this length of sailing. Personally, I would go this route for your upcoming cruise. The reason is that I've had some great shuttle experiences and some not so great shuttle experiences with the local Port Canaveral hotels. If you have the rental car, you will be able to arrive at the port at your convenience and leave as soon as you depart the ship. The porters will help you with the drop off and return back to your car in the deck so both transitions will be smooth and seamless.
I hope this helps, Jenalyn! The final countdown is on, so please don't hesitate to write back if you think of anything else before the big day arrives!
    Have a magical day!
