Happy Birthday, Tiki! How fun that you share a birth year with Walt Disney World! Solo trips to WDW are so free and breezy, I kind of love them!
Although traveling solo can be a bit scary, it is also oddly calm. It’s nice to not have to cater to anyone else’s dietary needs, sore feet, or ride restrictions. The first time I found myself completely alone at Walt Disney World, I didn’t even know what to do with myself. I quickly got over that and headed to the parks for some solo fun!
I love to stop for ALL the
PhotoPass photographers. Often when you are solo, they will create even more magic with the special shots that they have. Earlier this month, I was on my own in EPCOT, heading to meet some friends for dinner. I stopped in front of Spaceship Earth to have some photos taken (I was all made up for dinner) and wanted the special 50th confetti picture. The photographer was wonderful, and not only did that photo for me, but added 50th balloons in another shot.
Traveling solo also allows you to take advantage of single rider lines, getting you on even more attractions quickly. And sometimes, I meet the most fun people while standing in the attraction queue. I have made some great friends while in a line.
My last tip is to try and secure some of those restaurant reservations that you might not try if you were with more people.
Narcoosee’s is one of my absolute favorites, and if you time it right, you can be there during the Magic Kingdom fireworks. Also, California Grill offers spectacular views of Magic Kingdom and amazing food (and adult beverages).
I hope you have a wonderful visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth next month!
Happy Traveling (solo),
Tracy
