Hi, this is my first race! 😬 I will be running the princess half marathon on Feb. 24th. My question is how much time do they give you to run the whole race? And how much time do you think I should take per mile? Thank you :)

    Hi Fanny!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Congratulations on signing up for the Disney Princess Half Marathon! I think you are going to have a wonderful time.

I know so many princesses stress about pacing throughout the race, but please know if you've put in the training time and try your best, you've already succeeded! With that being said, runDisney does ask that it's princesses maintain a 16 minute per mile pace. Any runner that is unable to maintain this pace may be picked up at some point. This pace is set from the very last person that crosses the starting line. So if you are 13 minutes ahead of the last person, you've already gained 1 minute per mile!

I like to encourage others to shoot for a 15 minute per mile pace to give you some cushion and the potential to stop for a character photo opportunity if your heart desires! Mostly, I ask that you just listen your body and don't push yourself to the point of injury. I'm sure you'll do absolutely amazing! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
