First of all, this panel is beyond helpful. I was just curious as to what parts of other resorts are guests of another resort allowed to enjoy. Meaning, can my family and I enjoy the beaches or pools at other resorts. We like to explore the others, too.

    Meredith,

    That is a great question!

So Disney is very encouraging of guests to feel free to explore the resorts, even the ones where they are not a current guest. Clearly it is good marketing, as after walking through the wonderfully themed resorts you want to book a return stay! But they also want you to dine in their resort restaurants, and just enjoy the whole experience.

Unfortunately they do have to limit the experience a bit. So while pool-hopping used to be a popular practice, Disney now restricts the use of the pools and beaches of the resorts to just those guests staying at the particular hotel. It just got to a point where some resort guests couldn't even get a chair at their own hotel pool, and Disney knew this was keeping them from having a great experience.

So DEFINITELY do a bit of resort hopping. I visit the Wilderness Lodge, the Contemporary, and the Polynesian on most trips, even if I am not staying at any of the three. They just take me away to another place. Just know that the pools and beaches will be reserved for guests of the specific resort.

HINT: Don't assume that the restriction goes much further than that. For instance the Child Activity Centers are available for ANY Disney resort hotel guest to use. A great convenience for a Mom & Dad Date Night Out!

Write me back if you have any follow-up questions.

    Have a magical vacation!
