First off I am so excited to be take my family on their first trip to DW this Oct. We have purchased the DDP, and I was curious as to how it would work at restaurants that do not have a kids menu to order from; will this still count as kids meal?

    Hi Mandy,

The fine print on the Disney Dining Plan states that kids must order a kids meal at restaurants where a kids meal is available. As you've discovered, there are some restaurants (usually quick service locations), which do not have kids' meals. At these locations, you're welcome to order the adult meal for your child and have it count as a child's meal plan credit.

For example, Gaston's Tavern in the Magic Kingdom only serves one size of pork shank as the Dining Plan meal option. Since there is no specific child size portion available, you'd be welcome to order the shank for a child and have it count for a child credit on the Dining Plan.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
