Hi Devone,
Downtown Disney offers a number of great restaurants, merchandise and speciality shops to visit as well as some great sights to see.
Rainforest Cafe is a fun and lively restaraunt. We never worry about keeping our boys entertained while waiting for their food, since there was so much going on. If you have not dined there before, be aware some of the rooms tend to get quite loud. If your children are afraid of loud noises you may want to ask the hostess where the best location would be for your family to sit.
Once dinner is complete, I am positive you will find plenty to keep the kids and you entertained. There are two fun splash areas that my boys love playing in, just be sure to bring dry clothes. There is also a carousel and train for the kids, well maybe even a few adults too. Tokens can be purchased outside the rides for a few dollars. Inside the Once Upon a Toy store, there are some fun areas where the kids can build and design their own Potato Heads and My Little Pony, for fun or to purchase. A little further down the Marketplace is the Lego store. Right outside the store is a play area complete with building zones and a toddler play zone.
My boys love wandering the shops and checking out the lights and Disney Pal statutes, of course a trip to Goofy's Candy Company, where you can build your own treats is a must! If you continue down the walkway towards the Westside, you will encounter the new Characters in Flight hot air balloon, AMC theatre and DisneyQuest (an interactive gaming zone). Most of these will be a little to old for your kids at this time but it is a great walk with plenty to look at and enjoy. We love strolling along the river and watching the boats.
