First, I love the panel! The advice from each of you is so helpful. Want to plan 1st visit w/ my DS 4 1/2 in Oct 2011. I'm torn between 1 of the moderate resorts or WL. What are the perks for a deluxe resort? Or which moderate resort do you suggest? Thanks

How exciting to be planning your little one's first visit to WDW!  Nothing like watching them the first time they hit the parks.
Okay now to pick a resort.  First, let me say that all of the WDW resorts are fantastic, and yes each one has it's own special perk.  The wonderful thing about the WL is the ferry to the MK and access to the monorail once at the MK.  With your son being 4 I think you will be spending a lot of time at the MK so it is helpful to be able to get there easily.  With that said, if I were picking a moderate resort, he might love the CBR and their pirate themed rooms.  There are precious and kids love them.  I personally like POR but I think if I had a 4 DS I would definitely stay at CBR.
I hope this helps and that he has the most magical WDW vacation in October 2011.  If you have any other questions while planning your trip, please come back and visit us here at the Mom's Panel.
