First my kids love calamari and I only see it on the Palo menu. Is there a chance they will be able to get some? Second, Do you know of a good beach within walking distance at the port in Florida Keys?

    Ahoy Shannon!
It's almost time for you to set sail for your magical Disney Cruise!  I'm sure you are counting the minutes until all the fun to begin!
Your kids sound like adventurous eaters so I'm sure they are looking forward to trying out some new cuisine on your sailing.  On the first night of your cruise, I would speak to your dining server and head server about your Calamari request.  They always try to accommodate their Guest's requests so hopefully they can find a way to get some to the main dining room for your kids to enjoy.
When you stop in Key West, you will find that there aren't any beaches for swimming located near the port area.  But, you can take a right on Whitehead St. & left on Southard St. to go to Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park.  It is around a 20-30 minute walk or you can take a taxi.  There is an entrance fee which will run you around $2.50 per person and also includes a visit to the fort.  Umbrellas, beach chairs and snorkel equipment are available for rent, and there is food for sale at the concession stand.  The beach area is quite rocky so shoes will need to be worn both on the sand and in the water.  If you want to investigate this option further have a look at www.floridastateparks.org and search Fort Zachary Taylor.
Thanks so much for visiting the Moms Panel, Shannon!
    Bon Voyage!
