Are first generation magic bands still active and working in the parks and within my disney experience? TIA

    Hi Paul,
Thanks for joining us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

Oh how I love MagicBands! These fantastic, colorful little bracelets allow me to travel throughout the Walt Disney World Resort without having to worry about keys, cards, money or tickets...it's an all-in-one pixie-dusted powerhouse when you're staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel.

Paul, your first generation MagicBand will work if the batteries that are inside of them are still active.  The battery life is generally the limiting factor with these devices.  They should still be linked to your My Disney Experience account from a previous visit if you didn't delete them (I have more than I care to admit due to living close by and taking frequent weekend trips and they are all still there).

If the batteries are dead, this is the perfect time to pick out a new, second generation MagicBand as a souvenir of your upcoming trip!

If you are staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, a MagicBand is included with your reservation.  You may go into My Disney Experience to customize your MagicBand for your upcoming trip if this is the case.

Have a fantastic time and come back and visit us again with any additional questions.

    Best Wishes,
    Amy S.
