Hi Debbie!
Welcome back to planDisney!
From my experience, once one of your
Lightning Lanes expires, you will be able to book another Lightning Lane. However, it’s important to note that you’ll only be able to book each available Lightning Lane one time per park day. So, if your Lightning Lane expires, you may not get to experience that attraction via the Lightning Lane that day.
Of course, you could always try to scan into your Lightning Lane past your return time! While it’s not guaranteed that you’ll be able to successfully scan into the Lightning Lane after it expires, there is a grace period (subject to change).
Another thing to be aware of is that when you make your Lightning Lane pre-selections, you’ll be able to choose one tier 1 attraction and 2 tier 2 attractions. These tiers don’t go away until you scan into your first attraction of the day. So, there’s a possibility that once your first Lightning Lane expires, you may be limited to only booking a tier 2 Lightning Lane, especially if you still have a tier 1 Lightning Lane booked for later in the day.
Remember, if you think you may miss your Lightning Lane, you can try to modify your return time to a time that works better for you, pending availability.
During your time at
Epcot, make sure to leave some room in your itinerary to explore the fun offerings that come along with the
Festival of the Holidays. Once the festival begins, there’s usually a festival guide on the homepage of your
My Disney Experience app or by searching for the festival using the search button on the app.
I hope that helps…and that you have the best trip! Let us know if you have any other questions!
