First family vacation...and to Disney at that. We're a family of 5 with children ages 10, 9, and 4 at the time of travel. I don't want to take up too much of our time eating but would like to use the Deluxe Dining the best way we can. Any suggestions?

Hi Crystal!   Congratulations on your first family vacation, as well as, your first Walt Disney World Vacation! Your three children are going to love experiencing the "Magic" of Disney!  Our family has enjoyed vacationing with the Disney Dining Plan many times.  We have used the Basic Dining Plan and the Deluxe Dining Plan. The Disney Deluxe Dining Plan includes three meals and two snacks per person, per night of your package stay for everyone in the party ages 3 and over. The plan also includes one resort refillable drink mug per person, that is valid for the length of your stay.  When our family visited on the Deluxe Dining Plan, we scheduled several Signature Restaurants that required two meal entitlements.  We found that by making advanced dining reservations for a Character Experience for breakfast and then an early dinner reservation at one of the Signature Restaurants, we were able to cut down on time spent at meals allowing for more time in the parks.  Check out the Disney Dining Plan webpage and view the PDF files for each Dining Plan available at Walt Disney World. These are great informative planning tools explaining how each of the Disney Dining Plans work. You will also want to make advanced dining reservations for your table-service meals.  Advanced dining reservations can be made up to 180 days prior to your arrival by calling (407)WDW-DINE or by going online here.  I hope this helps!  Please write back if you have any other questions that I can assist you with or if you would like dining recommendations. Sending pixie dust your way for a Magical First Trip!
    Happy Planning,
