Our first family trip to WDW is in March and I want to make sure that everyone enjoys it. My daughter is 13 and my son will be 2 when we go. Do you have any tips on how to make sure they both have a good time?

    Hi, Kelli!
I'm so excited your family is planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort. The first visit is always magical.

Your daughter is going to LOVE getting the chance to take advantage of the Rider Switch system. When her brother is unable to ride on an attraction because of his size, one parent will wait while she gets to ride with the other parent. Then, she can ride a SECOND time with the second parent. My son still misses those days when his sister was too small and he could ride attractions a second time.

Don't worry, there's a lot for your son to enjoy as well. Check out this fabulous collection of ideas on how to do Disney World with little ones. Magic Kingdom Park is my go-to park for all ages to enjoy. I'd certainly start there when you get to the resort!

My son is 14 years old and he tells me he still enjoys seeing characters (his favorite way to visit Mickey is by eating at Chef Mickey's). But his favorite thing to do is ride Expedition Everest as many times as possible. There's a single rider line that he uses to hop on while the rest of the family rests nearby. (I often hit the single rider line with him since it's also my favorite attraction.)

My biggest tip is to schedule a few activities each day and leave room to go with the flow. If your son can nap in a stroller, you will probably have a little more flexibility with your activities. If not, make sure you get into each park as early as possible. That way, you won't have as many crowds and you can enjoy more attractions before most Guests arrive.

I hope these tips help. I am happy to answer even more questions. I know you're going to have a great visit!
