Hi, We are going on our first family Disney cruise in August. It is a 4 night Bahamian cruise. Will we have a formal dinner night?

Welcome aboard, Staci! Setting sail with Disney Cruise Line is always an amazing vacation, but your very first cruise with Captain Mickey and the crew is the most magical one, as everything will be new for you, with surprises galore! I'm really excited for your family to experience it!

The dress for Disney Dream's four-night sailings include three cruise casual nights (one of which is Pirate Night), and one optional dress-up night. As it states, this night it is optional for guests to wear dressier clothing to dinner. Many guests do, as it is a wonderful time to get the family all dolled up for some memorable fun and photos. Even your favorite Disney friends will be out and about in their evening best that night, which makes for great pictures. One of my favorite photos from our cruises is my children when they were very little, my son in a little tiny tuxedo with a Mickey Mouse bow tie, and my daughter in her Rapunzel dress, standing with Mickey Mouse in his tuxedo! Precious!

Guests will be wearing anything from casual wear to nice summer dresses for the women and khakis with a dress shirt and tie for the men, to real formalwear, so dress however your family is most comfortable. It's your cruise!

As you're packing, don't forget to throw in some pirate accessories for that swashbuckling Pirate Night that I mentioned! Guests will receive a Mickey's Pirates IN the Caribbean bandana to wear that night, but many guests will bring extra pirate gear, costumes, or accessories to make the night even more fun. Of course, there is plenty of pirate paraphernalia available to purchase onboard too!

Have fun counting down these last couple of weeks until you set sail, Staci!
