    First Disney Vacation! We will be there from June 29 (midnight arrival) through July 5, 2013... We only have a 4 day base ticket, and we are staying at the Pop Century Resort... 4 Adults, 5 kids (Ages 4, 6, 9, 15 and 1) what do you suggest we do?

    I love first trips especially when they are to the Walt Disney World Resorts!

    First, if the children know, ask them what they want to do. Show them the website and get ideas. Maybe no one wants to go to Animal Kingdom-then save that ticket to go back to one of the other parks. Keeping the children happy always works for me.

    Normally I would recommend Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom in this order. However, with you arriving so late, I would want you to have the maximum time in Epcot. You could spend your first day at the resort to gear up for your vacation. While I love Animal Kingdom, the animals run for shade in the summer and it is hot there. It also is not a full day in the park and I would not want you to use the ticket for shorter day. 

    Also, eat at least lunch or dinner at a table service restaurant. This gets you out of the heat and the crowds and it is a wonderful way to connect.

    Finally, remember to slow down and you can always return!
