Welcome aboard, Francine! I'm so excited to hear that you are getting ready to set sail on your very first cruise with Disney! With so much to offer everyone in the family, I have a feeling that this will not be your last sailing with Captain Mickey!
PhotoPass at the Walt Disney World resort is separate than the photo system and packages available on the ship. You already know how the PhotoPass works in the parks, but on the ship it is a bit different. Each guest will have a Disney Cruise Line Key to the World card which serves as their "ticket" to get on and off the ship, stateroom key, charge card on the ship and at Castaway Cay, and photo identification. Throughout the cruise there will be lots of opportunities to have your photo taken. Whenever a Disney Cruise Line photographer takes your picture, you can give them your card which they will scan to assign that picture to your stateroom album. You can then stop by
Shutters, the onboard photography shop, anytime throughout the sailing to view prints as well as browse your pictures digitally at a photo kiosk. Then, decide if you'd like to purchase a package of 10, 20 or unlimited images on a cd, or if you'd prefer to simply buy a few prints.
Unlike PhotoPass in the parks, where guests can view and order photos from home, on the ships, you'll need to decide on and purchase pictures or packages while onboard as you won't be able to view them online once you leave the ship. I hope that helps as you plan your "surf and turf" vacation with Disney, Francine! I'm happy to help if you have any other questions as you continue to plan!
