Going on our first Disney Cruise in March, 2014 on the Magic. I was wondering how the dining seating arrangements are? There will be my daughter, husband, and I. Can we sit alone or do we have to dine with other? Also what is the attire for dining? Thanks

Welcome aboard, Michelle! I'm so glad you are looking forward to what is sure to be a very magical sailing this coming spring! It's always fun to plan a Disney cruise, but planning your very first one is even more special!

If your family would like to sit alone at dinner, you may want to put in that request with your travel agent or with one of the agents at Disney Cruise Line, by calling 800-951-3532. My family usually requests to sit as just our family (or with extended family and friends with whom we cruise), and we've always found that request to be fulfilled, however it is not always guaranteed.

On your four-night sailing on the Disney Magic next spring, you can expect two Cruise Casual nights, one Dress-Up night and one Pirate Night. Pirate Night is the time to bring out your pirate best (or dress cruise casual and add some pirate-y accessories). Both parents and children alike will be sporting their scallywag best that night for the pirate themed menu, pirate games, Mickey's Pirates IN the Caribbean Deck Party and the Buccaneer Blast Fireworks at sea! What fun! Each guest will receive a pirate bandana to wear, but many guests go way beyond that with accessories and even many guests in full pirate costumes. Everyone in my family has a pirate outfit just to wear on our Disney cruises and we really look forward to all the fun that night!

So, pack some cruise casual clothes like khakis and polos for your husband, a couple of cute skirts or capris for your daughter and yourself, throw in a dressier outfit for each of you for Dress-Up Night, some pirate costumes or accessories and you'll be all set for dinners.

I hope that helps as you continue to plan your cruise, Michelle! Let me know how else I can help!
