Welcome aboard, NaShona!
It's almost time to set sail on your very first Disney Cruise Line
voyage! You have so much magic in store from the moment you first set foot in the ship's atrium as the Cast Members announce your family name and applaud your arrival. I can't wait for to your family to experience all of the fun. There is truly
something for everyone on a Disney cruise!
My family and I have sailed many times in the winter with Disney. In fact, it's been our favorite time to sail. I see you're from Maryland, so you'll really enjoy sneaking away from the falling temperatures to head south for the warm waters of the Bahamas or Caribbean! You'll certainly enjoy warm temperatures (even downright hot, depending on which itinerary you'll be taking), so check the weather online in the various ports you'll visit the week prior to sailing so you can pack accordingly. The
pools are heated if the temperature drops below 75 degrees, and my kids have never found it too cold to swim, so you should be all set. Plus, there are hot tubs for those cold water wimps like me! Definitely pack a jacket or sweater for the days and nights at sea. It can get breezy and chilly when you're out at sea, especially in the evening, no matter what time of year it is. I also like to have that jacket or sweater inside the ship because I'm always cold in the
theatre and restaurants, so having an extra layer is a great idea just in case.
I hope the next couple of weeks fly by for you as you await this big trip! Please swing by with more questions before you head off to sea, as we're happy to help, NaShona! Happy planning!
