Welcome aboard, Valerie! I'm so happy that your family is about to experience so much magic onboard your very first Disney cruise next month! I bet you are already counting the days!
Check out
Disney Cruise Line's packing tips so you get an idea of what you'll need. It will be nice and warm (lows in 70's, highs in 80's) in the Bahamas in October, so summer attire is what you'll want to pack. Be sure to throw in a sweater, sweatshirt or light jacket for the cooler evenings at sea, as it does get chilly and windy on deck.
You'll have three cruise casual nights and one dress up night on your particular sailing. One of those cruise casual nights is Disney Cruise Line's popular
Pirate Night. If you have pirate costumes or accessories, bring them! Of course, they are available for sale on board too. Adults and kids alike dress up like pirates for the pirate-themed menu at dinner, pirate games, Pirates IN the Caribbean Deck Party and the Buccaneer Blast fireworks that night. Each guest will receive a bandana to wear, but many guests really go all out!
In addition to that, you're sailing in October, so you'll get to enjoy
Halloween On The High Seas! Bring your son's Halloween costume so he can take part in the costume parties and Trick-or-Treating! If you and your husband are game, bring costumes for yourself too, as they'll be adult Halloween fun going on at night!
Have fun as you continue to plan and let me know if I can help with anything else, Valerie!
