We are going on our first Disney cruise during Thanksgiving on the Magic to the E. Carribean with our 4 and 6 year olds. Are there any special tips that would be helpful while on the cruise that we should know about to make it more enjoyable? Thank you!

    Hi Mary,

Welcome aboard! My family loves cruising with Disney! We have enjoyed two cruises and hope to enjoy another one soon.

First, arrive at the port as soon as possible. This will allow you to be in one of the first groups to board the ship. Have in your carry on bathing suits and suntan lotion so you can hit the pool for the afternoon after you have lunch. It is also a good time to tour the ship so that you can see all the areas to enjoy.

Next, register your children for the Oceaneer Club online and then finalize the paperwork at the port. This is a fun and safe place for children to play and have fun. The cast members are awesome and your children will not want to leave! We always limited our girls' time at the Club by having meals together and touring the ports.

Enjoy the shows! This is like having Broadway at your doorstep! Take in a movie and tour the ports.

At Castaway Cay, get to the beach early. This is a great place to learn to snorkel in shallow water or just pull up a chair and tan. My girls would stay here the whole trip if they could.

    Wishing you a magical cruise!
    Beth
