Hi it's our first cruise and I wondered is there lots to do on shore without booking extra excursions ?

Welcome aboard, Mark! It sounds like you've got a magical adventure coming up soon with Disney Cruise Line

You didn't mention which ship or itinerary you'll be enjoying, so unfortunately I can't give you specifics on the ports you'll be visiting, however some ports are very accessible for guests who'd like to spend the day exploring the port area on their own. Castaway Cay, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Nassau, Key West, Cabo San Lucas, and many of the Alaskan ports as well, are just a few of the ones that come to mind right away as easy to navigate without a Port Adventure.

That being said, there are some fabulous Port Adventures offered by Disney that take guests on educational and exciting adventures like only Disney can do. My family and I have spent days exploring on our own, but our best times in port have been taking the adventures because Disney works with fabulous tour groups to get us special adventures and great service and transportation, all with the peace of mind that the ship always knows where we are, so that even if the adventure is running a few minutes behind, we won't miss the ship!

Let us know if there are specific ports you're interested in and we can help with more details, Mark!
    Happy planning!
