Ahoy, Melissa!
In just a few weeks you'll be partying like a pirate in the middle of the ocean on your first magical voyage aboard the Disney Dream! I'm sure you're so ready to get this vacation underway to experience an amazing Labor Day weekend at sea!
Melissa, the Disney Dream will navigate to two beautiful Bahamian ports of call on your sailing. Scheduling is always subject to change, but you can expect to be in Nassau from 9:30 a.m. until 5:15 p.m and Castaway Cay from 8:30 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. The times I've listed are normally the "All Ashore" and "All Aboard" times for these ports. They will also be listed in your cruise newsletter and on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Have you had a chance to download this free app to your Apple or Android device? If not, I highly recommend you do it before you arrive at at the port especially since it serves as a countdown while you wait for the big day. Once you are onboard, it's free to use while connected to the ship's Wi-Fi even in airplane mode. It's a guide to all the ship's happenings, deck plans, dinner menus and features an onboard texting component!
You are going to love your visit to Castaway Cay! Towels are provided on the pier, but I recommend a beach bag to carry them in along with your sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, camera/phone and map of the island. Since it's your first visit, I suggest checking your cruise newsletter or the app for Character Appearances on shore. These are always some of my favorites because the Characters are dressed for fun in the sun in their adorable beach attire. Shutter's photographers are usually there to capture the beachy photos, but they will also be happy to take a photo with your camera. And don't miss out on a delicious lunch at Cookie's BBQ! I love to indulge in a Big Island Cookie and some banana bread!
Have a magical time!
Nancy
