Hi. We will be going on our first cruise on the Dream in Oct. What types of clothing and shoes should I pack for my 3 and 7 year-old boys for when we eat dinner in the main dinning rooms? Thanks!

Hi again, April! Your cruise on the Dream later this fall will be so magical for your entire family, especially your young boys! And dinner is no exception. Just wait until they see what is in store for them at Animator's Palate for dinner! What an experience!

Since your sailing this October will be either a three-night or four-night cruise, you can most likely expect cruise casual attire in the evenings, and one dress-up night (or optional dress-up night on the three-night sailing). Of course, don't forget the pirate attire for Pirate Night

Disney asks that guests wear long pants (or dresses or skirts) to dinner, and no jeans or shorts. Very young boys, like your boys could certainly wear dressy shorts and a polo and be just fine. My little guy is five and on Cruise Casual nights, he wears khakis and a polo with closed toed shoes. On dress-up nights he wears either a dress shirt and tie with khakis or even a blazer jacket if it's a more formal night. Save the shorts and flip flops for relaxing breakfasts and lunches at Cabanas buffet and by the pool. My kids would live in their swimsuits and flip flops if I let them, but they do actually enjoy dressing up at night. It sure makes for some great photo opportunities too!

I hope that helps as you continue to plan, April! Let me know if you have other questions!
