Ahoy, Teresa!
I like how you have sandwiched your first Disney Cruise in between two stays at the Walt Disney World Resort! I know you are looking forward to experiencing the Disney magic on both land and sea, so I'm glad you sent in your question so we can assist you with your plans.
The first thing you want to consider is your budget for
ground transportation. Disney Cruise Line does offer transportation from the Walt Disney World Resort to Port Canaveral, but it is not included in the price of your cruise. Currently, it is $70.00 per person for a round-trip voucher (always subject to change). The motor coach will pick you up late morning to early afternoon and deliver you right to the port. It takes about an hour, and the motor coach offers entertainment and bathrooms for your convenience! Once the cruise is over, the motor coach will deliver you back to your resort with a scheduled departure of 9:00 a.m. from the port. If you decide to drive to the port, you will need to budget for parking rates- $64.00 for a three-night sailing and $80.00 for a four-night cruise (always subject to change). The parking deck is covered from the hot Florida sun.
If you decide to utilize Disney Cruise Line transportation, the resort will allow you to leave your car in the parking lot. You will want to inform them of your plans when you check-in. Since you are arriving the day prior to your cruise departure, you may receive your cruise transportation instructions including pick-up time and location when you check-in. If not, it will be delivered to your resort room later that day. I can tell you that luggage pick-up is at 8:00 a.m., and you do not have to be in the room when they come by. It will be delivered directly to your stateroom later that afternoon.
I hope I've given you some helpful information for your upcoming cruise, Teresa!
