Welcome aboard, Cindy! Congratulations on booking your very first cruise with Disney! You have so much to look forward to and for my family, the planning is half the fun, so enjoy every moment starting now!
Disney Cruise Line categorizes their staterooms based on size, location (forward, aft), deck and number of guests that the room sleeps.
Stateroom categories and their information can be found on Disney Cruise Line's website. The inside staterooms are categories 11 and 10. Deluxe Oceanview staterooms are typically category 9. Categories 4-7 are verandah staterooms, and the concierge and suite staterooms are lettered.
The way we choose our stateroom is to decide first on our budget and then find a category that fits into our budget. Then, I like to view Disney Cruise Line's webpage for the ship and it's Deck Plan. You can play around with categories and location there to find the optimal spot for you. Check it's location in relation to the Youth Clubs, elevators and other spots you might frequent, and you'll find one that will work best for your family. No matter the stateroom, your family will receive Disney's top notch service, so you can't go wrong!
Please stop back if you have further questions as you continue to plan your first magical cruise, Cindy!
