On our first Alaska cruise, since we are in each port for so long, how does the dining & shows work? Do we have to leave the port early to come back to the ship for the shows and early seating? Are there shows in the evening like on the Caribbean cru

Welcome aboard, Wendie! You're in for such fun and adventure on your Disney cruise to Alaska!

If you have the first seating, you'll be dining at 5:45 p.m. The second seating is at 8:15 p.m. If you plan to spend most of your port days out exploring the Alaskan countryside, you might find it more favorable to have the second dining seating, so you can relax and take your time getting ready after your get back on the ship in the late afternoon. The shows will be at 6:15 and 8:30, so you can attend the early show if you have second dinner and first show if you have the late dining.

You will get to enjoy some fabulous Broadway-style shows in the Walt Disney Theatre each night, just as guests do when sailing with Disney Cruise Line in the Caribbean, so plan to attend, as they're not to be missed!

Check out the Guest Aboard times in each Alaskan port so you can plan your days and evenings. They are listed on your itinerary.

In case you haven't already, be sure to check our my fellow Disney Cruise Line Mom Nancy's videos. These are called A Mom's Take On Sailing To Alaska. She gives you all sort of great tips and tricks and an amazing glimpse into what you can expect on this voyage up north. Have fun planning, Wendie!
