are the fireworks for wishes and mvmcp the same

Hi, Jacquie! No, the presentations are different.  During Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season is performed.  This fireworks show is synchronized to Christmas music.  The fireworks form holiday shapes, and Cinderella's castle enjoys holiday magic, as well.  At one point, it even resembles a Christmas tree with a star on top.  During the month of December, Wishes Nighttime Spectacular and Holiday Wishes are alternated.  Check the Walt Disney World website for which one is presented each night.  Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
