Welcome back to planDisney, Christina! It sounds like you're planning a fun trip for 2022!
As part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration, the restaurant formerly known as the Wave at
Disney's Contemporary Resort has been reimagined into the brand-new
Steakhouse 71. I had the opportunity to dine here twice last week and let me tell you, it's easily one of my favorite dining locations on property! When you walk in, you'll be treated to a history lesson and a trip down memory lane; take some time to look at the black and white photos on the wall of Walt and the construction process of Walt Disney World. The decor is both vintage and updated at the same time, and it's amazing how bright the space is even though there aren't any windows.
So you've probably figured it out by now; no windows = no fireworks views.
California Grill offers the only fireworks dining experience at the Contemporary, and the rooftop is exclusive to the Guests who dine there. However, do not fret... I have a solution! I recommend having a fabulous meal at Steakhouse 71, and afterward, head up to the observation deck located on the back right corner of the 4th-floor Grand Canyon Concourse (right by the
Bayview Gifts shop). They even pipe in the music for
Disney Enchantment to make it a delightful experience.
Let's get back to dinner now! Steakhouse 71 is known for its Sauce Flight, which comes with seven signature steak sauces (my favorite is the Wild Mushroom). It takes your meal experience to a whole new level! If you can save room for dessert, try the Steakhouse 71 Chocolate Cake; its 15 layers represent the 15 stories of the Contemporary Resort!
I hope you enjoy your dinner and fireworks show, Christina! I hope you write back if there's anything else we can do!
Take care,
Eean
