Hi Victoria,
One of my favorite Disney memories is gathering with my family at the end of a magical day and staring off into the night sky as it lights up in beautiful colors and perfectly choreographed flashes along with a moving soundtrack. I admit it...I'm a Disney crier, and there's nothing that brings tears to my eyes more than the beautiful
nighttime spectaculars.
It's simply not possible to have incredible shows like Happily Ever After and EPCOT Forever without drawing huge crowds of spectators, though. With Disney's
commitment to health and safety for all Guests and Cast Members, they've had to temporarily pause experiences like nighttime spectaculars, parades, and character greetings. We don't know yet when it will be safe to resume these kinds of events, but I'd definitely encourage you to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for any announcements or updates. You can be sure that when it's announced that nighttime spectaculars are returning, I'll have some happy tears just
thinking about experiencing those moments again.
While you may not be able to experience fireworks at the end of your magical day, I'd encourage you to slow down and enjoy the nighttime views at both Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT. Cinderella Castle and Spaceship Earth both look pretty spectacular at night, and all of the lights around World Showcase Lagoon are simply lovely. It might sound silly but another one of my favorite spots at night is the Tangled restroom area near "it's a small world" in Magic Kingdom Park. With the lanterns illuminated, I can imagine the awe Rapunzel felt when she first saw the floating lights. It really is quite pretty.
There
is one nighttime show that has resumed, and if you can time your travel to catch a glimpse of it, I think it will put a smile on your face! The
Electrical Water Pageant is a nightly parade of sorts across the Seven Seas Lagoon and can be viewed from multiple Magic Kingdom area Resort hotels as well as the
ferryboat and the dock at the Transportation and Ticket Center.
Thanks so much for visiting us at planDisney, Victoria, and please feel free to keep your great questions coming. I hope you have a truly magical vacation this May!
