To see fireworks on 7/4 at HS, do you have to be in the Fantasmic viewing area 1st? Or are they where anyone at the park can see them? Planning MK on 7/3 and a Typhoon Lagoon on 7/4, but have ADR 50's PT Cafe at 7 pm. Will we have trouble getting in HS?

    Susan,

No, you do not have to be in the Fantasmic! theater to see the Fourth of July fireworks at Hollywood Studios. In fact, you would not want to be in there. You would be facing the wrong direction!

The optimal viewing point is being somewhere on Hollywood Boulevard or in Echo Park on the side furthest away from the Sorcerer's hat. Your viewing direction should be toward the Great Movie Ride attraction, just as if you were looking down Main Street USA towards Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom.

As for getting into Hollywood Studios that day, you should have no problem. Despite the fact that park closures due to capacity can be an issue on the Fourth of July, Hollywood Studios never seems to have that problem.

Matt Hochberg of StudiosCentral.com (an unofficial fan site for Hollywood Studios) wrote a great article about this very thing, so you might want to read it!

    Have a magical vacation!
