I am finding it difficult to book an affordable trip there. It seems if you have a family of 4 there are deals and reasonable rates but throw one more into the mix and it more than doubles. We have priced 2 rooms and suites, kids are 15,13,7 any ideas?

    Betty,
I feel your pain.  We have the same issue with our family of two adults and three children.  The issue is  due to fire code restrictions that limit the number of people that can safely stay in a room.  Unfortunately none of the Value Resort rooms (except the Family Suite at All Star Music) are big enough to safely have five guests.

So, the good news is that you have a nice excuse to consider the Moderate Resorts (bad news: they do cost more).  The moderate resorts that accommodate five guests include:
    - Port Orleans Riverside
    - Coronado Springs
    - Saratoga Springs

    Other options to consider:
    - Ft. Wilderness Cabins (more expensive, but much more room, and you might save money if you use the kitchen to make several meals)
    - Renting Disney Vacation Club ("DVC") Points from a DVC owner (do careful research, and make sure the person is recommended/trustworthy)

Lastly, be sure to check out discount codes that might be available to reduce your costs.  A good Disney Authorized travel agent and/or mousesavers.com can be good sources for finding out about available discount codes.
