How do I find out what type of events will be going on in Jan/Feb? Trying to plan a time to go when there won't be as many competitions/gourps there.

Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jason! Although any time of year is a great time to visit Walt Disney World Resort, January and February bring mild weather and relatively light crowds, making it a favorite time for many Guests.

The ideal temperatures make perfect conditions for runDisney events, and there are a couple of popular race weekends to make note of when planning your trip. Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is the biggest, often attracting close to 100,000 runners from around the world, and it takes place on January 8-12, 2020. I am a frequent visitor for Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. Although it's not quite as big, it still has a slight impact on Park crowds. This race will be February 20-23, 2020.

There are also two cheerleading competitions going on during this time frame at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The UCA & UDA College Cheerleading & Dance Team National Championship is from January 17-19, 2020, and the National High School Cheerleading Championship occurs February 7-9, 2020. These events won't impact theme park attendance levels much, but the resorts they stay at can be busier than normal. These teams typically stay at Disney's Pop Century Resort, any of Disney's All-Star Resorts, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, and occasionally Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

I hope this helps you plan your magical 2020 trip, Jason! Come back and see us again!
