It's so good to see you here at planDisney, Kristin! Thanks for stopping by with this great question. Your Walt Disney World Resort visit is just around the corner, and it sounds like you'd like to channel your inner artist during your stay. I love that! Let's talk about how to ensure you can get creative while you're here.
While offerings can change, I do know of one mosaic experience you can currently book in advance.
Spanish Mosaic Art is offered a few days a week at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. It's part of the Enchanting Extras Collection and can be booked
60 days in advance. I checked the calendar, and there are
spots available on April 4. My tip is to secure your seat as soon as possible, since you're within your booking window.
I made my own Mickey-shaped tile during this experience, and it was a blast! I especially loved the vibe in the Dahlia Lounge where we made our mosaic art; the breathtaking view was very inspiring! The activity took a couple of hours, so it was relaxing and therapeutic. I enjoyed meeting other guests, and I treasure my colorful keepsake.
My pal JoAnna recently
wrote about similar crafts at select Disney Resort Hotels, and I saw a sign for a mosaic class offered at Disney's Art of Animation Resort a few weeks ago. The designs shown were similar to the ones I did at Coronado Springs. We could choose a Mickey or Minnie-shaped tile, as well as round and square shapes. But for me, the mouse was the obvious choice!
Your best bet is to ask at your resort when you arrive, and you can also check each resort's activities online. Head to any resort's homepage and select the
"Recreation" tab. You should see an "Activities Schedule" link near the top that takes you to a
daily list of offerings. For example, I see the mosaic class is offered most Wednesdays at 12:30 at Art of Animation. That's the perfect spot to don an artist's smock!
Kristin, I hope I've given you some ideas for making your own unique souvenir during your vacation. Please stop by
planDisney anytime!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
