Where can we find and have our picture taken with Ariel in mermaid form in early December 2012?

    Hi Rhonda,

Unfortunately, the answer to this is that it may not be possible. For many years, Ariel greeted guests in mermaid form at her Grotto near the Dumbo attraction. This location has been demolished to make way for the Fantasyland expansion.

Since the Grotto closed, Ariel has been greeting guests in human form in the Adventureland veranda at the Magic Kingdom and at the Princess Storybook meals at the Akershus at Epcot.

Much of the new Fantasyland will be opening for "holiday 2012" (no exact dates yet), but the princess areas won't be part of that stage of the opening. We don't know yet if anything will change in the Ariel greeting this winter, or at a later date when the new princess section of the Magic Kingdom is up and running.

The only real advice I can give you is to check back with us in November. Hopefully we'll have more news at that time.

    Fingers crossed!
