Do you find that he magic bands are worth the cost for one day at the park? Do they last to use again the following year? Debating if worth buying more expensive ones verses plain solid for our trip.

Hi Stacy and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so happy you sent me your question!

MagicBands are my favorite accessory when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. They carry our ticket information and even serve as our keys for our hotel room. Did you know that Disney hotel guests receive a complementary band? It’s just one of the many benefits of being a resort guest.

My daughter has talked us into buying her character bands over the years and to be honest, the first- generation bands are still circulating our house and being used as bracelets! Whether they are a solid color or decorated with our favorite characters, we treat them as if they were souvenirs and have never had buyer’s remorse.  If there’s a specific character or theme you like, one can always be purchased online, or from the Shop Disney Parks app before your trip.

The battery inside the MagicBand will typically last for up to two years and they can be used for your Disney vacations if they have a valid theme park ticket linked to them.

It’s easy to link your bands to your My Disney Experience account:

-Once you log on to your account click on MagicBands and Cards
-Click on “link” and locate the MagicBand ID number on the inside of your band. Enter the numbers.
-You can then assign a band to each member of your party and voila! Your bands are linked!

Stacy, I hope I’ve answered your questions about MagicBands. If you need any more help as you’re planning, feel free to send me your questions!
