Hi Denise,
I just love your idea to plan ahead with your Snack credits! The official
2014 Disney Dining Plan brochure lists these items as general examples of eligible Snack options:
Frozen fruit bar, ice cream novelty or popsicle
Single-serving scoop of popcorn
1 piece of whole fruit
Single-serving bag of snacks
12 oz. hot chocolate, coffee or tea
Single-serving pre-packaged juice or milk
20-oz bottle of soda, bottle of water or fountain drink
You're correct that you'll be able to look for the special symbol on the menus to see if an item is considered a "Snack" on the Disney Dining Plan or not. I'm not aware of a place on the Walt Disney World website where a more detailed list is available, but a few months ago I saw a listing of hundreds of Snack options available at Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Blizzard Beach, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and the Downtown Disney Area on the independent site www.thewdwguru.com (just search for "Disney Dining Snack Credit List"). I'm guessing that menu offerings change fairly often, so you might want to have a few options in mind when making your plans. One of my own favorite snacks that you might consider adding to your list is one of the delicious fruit smoothies (made with non-fat frozen yogurt) from Auntie Gravity's Galactic Goodies at Magic Kingdom.
Wishing you delicious (and healthy) dining, Denise! Have a magical vacation!
Beth
