Where can I find information about 4th of July weekend events (fireworks, etc.)? We will be there June 30-July 3 (can't stay for the 4th), and want to make sure we aren't missing anything magical! :)

    Hi Susan!

How exciting that you will be visiting Walt Disney World in July! The thrill of summer is particularly special as I think about the warm sun hitting my face while enjoying a cold Dole Whip.

As you may know, the Fourth of July fireworks did not occur in Walt Disney World in 2020 or 2021. There has not yet been an announcement regarding Fourth of July fireworks for 2022, but I am hopeful that they will return.

As I was reviewing the Walt Disney World calendar for July 2022, I noticed that there is not currently a fireworks showtime listed for Disney's Magic Kingdom on July 3 or 4. Every other day that week states that Disney Enchantment will occur as the fireworks celebration at Magic Kingdom.

While I do not know the reason for the omission of the name and time of the fireworks shows for those dates, one could hypothesize that possibly a Fourth of July fireworks show will occur on those dates. This is complete speculation on my part and there is no confirmation of what, if any, fireworks show will occur on or near the Fourth of July.

However, I will share that prior to 2020, Walt Disney World held "Disney's Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky" on both July 3 and 4 at 9:15 pm. I am hopeful that will return in 2022, but that is not yet confirmed.

Even if the Fourth of July fireworks do not return, there are many other things you can do on the Fourth of July! Enjoy special Fourth of July treats throughout the parks and resorts, such as Rice Krispie treats with red, white, and blue decorations, or experience the Hall of Presidents. I also highly recommend heading over to EPCOT and enjoying The American Adventure. You can see the Disney characters dressed up in their special "Spirit of '76" attire in the American Pavillion.

Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for announcements about this year's celebration, including the fireworks schedule and a foodie guide!

I hope you have a magical vacation!
    Magically,
    Stacy
